Mix-Designs is a full service residential & commercial design firm offering interior design, lighting design, & branding. Thoughtful design begins with learning how a client works but should include the value of a fresh set of eyes on an existing space. The goal for a finished project is a space that works for the way you live, comfortably efficiently, beautifully.
In an initial meeting we will set out the program for your project, identify your design passions & generate an initial budget. Any plans or selections made will be yours to take and use; good choices should never be left stranded on a table.
Mixed-Designs can create a full 3d model of a project; be it a renovation of all new construction. Perspectives at various stages of design development allow for different possibilities to be explored with the only costs being design time, and paper, rather than regret over missed opportunities. As the design is set material costs can be estimated to keep the clients budget on track. Throughout the design process Mixed-Designs can vet possible contractors; or provide recommendations on reputable builders to ensure a smooth build out.
Many projects don’t need full plans to be completed. New furniture, better lighting or just reimaging existing furniture can dramatically change how spaces work. Mixed-Designs gives clients access to trade pricing & vendors otherwise only available through third party stores at high markups.
Commercial Design & Branding
The overlap between what a space looks like and how a brand is developed is remarkable. New businesses often need both services, and Mixed-Designs brings the analytical rigor to that process. Working with our firm clients can benefit from the dispassionate testing of options and the careful deliberation between questions of what a new space is and why it is.

In all of my projects I start with the word Compelling.

As a promise, compelling delivers something complete; something confident. A comfortable stage to improvise daily life within.
As a demand compelling is a high threshold. Cliché is the enemy of compelling. Tension is compelling: it offers resolution and excitement, but incoherence is a draining chore.

I earned an MFA in Interior Design at VCU in 2015. My design passions are Color, Combining eras and styles, Indirect Lighting, Shadows, Art you can touch, and Textures.
